An optimal ordering policy for a visitor-based purchasing system with stochastic delivery time and partial prepayment for profit maximization

چکیده

The classical inventory control policies assume that orders are paid for at the time of their receipts, but in practice, suppliers may require retailers to pay a fraction purchasing cost advance, and sometimes allow them this several prepayments during predetermined period. Planning replenishments become challenging when decisions must be made under uncertainty, especially delivery is stochastic, shortages occur. This paper develops an model system which visitor sells product manufacturer, buyer receives call from make order items arrives stochastic time. Both partial backordering assumed model. main aim determine optimal level such his total profit maximized. A mathematical with general probability distribution lead developed globally solutions derived applicability discussed through two special cases uniform exponential distributions. results supportive proposed ideas they reflect efficient approach.

A Queueing-Inventory System with Repair Center for Defective Items and One-for-One Ordering Policy

In this paper we consider a system consisting of a supplier with a single processing unit, a repair center, and a retailer with Poisson demand. We assume that the retailer applies one-for-one ordering policy with backorders for his inventory control. The retailer’s orders form a queue in the supplier processing unit. We also assume that a certain fraction of the products produced by the supplie...

A Multi-period Profit Maximization Policy for a Stochastic Demand Inventory System with Upward Substitution

This paper deals with a periodic-review substitutable inventory system for a finite and an infinite number of periods. Here an upward substitution structure, a substitution of a more costly item by a less costly one, is assumed, with two products. At the beginning of each period, a stochastic demand comes for the first item only, which is quality-wise better and hence costlier. Whenever an arri...

An optimal policy for deteriorating items with time-proportional deterioration rate and constant and time-dependent linear demand rate

In this paper, an economic order quantity (EOQ) inventory model for a deteriorating item is developed with the following characteristics: (i) The demand rate is deterministic and two-staged, i.e., it is constant in first part of the cycle and linear function of time in the second part. (ii) Deterioration rate is time-proportional. (iii) Shortages are not allowed to occur. The o...

A POMDP Framework to Find Optimal Inspection and Maintenance Policies via Availability and Profit Maximization for Manufacturing Systems

Maintenance can be the factor of either increasing or decreasing system's availability, so it is valuable work to evaluate a maintenance policy from cost and availability point of view, simultaneously and according to decision maker's priorities. This study proposes a Partially Observable Markov Decision Process (POMDP) framework for a partially observable and stochastically deteriorating syste...
